Finding scientific applications for your iPhone to iPad has always been a little hit and miss since there is no “science” category on the iTunes store. To help out I created a page listing applications that I knew about, unfortunately as the number of applications increased the page became unmanageable. In addition an alphabetical listing is not the most useful way to search through them.
John uses a stethoscope, also pink, and Faber Acoustical’s SignalSuite generator running on his iPod Touch to detect any abnormal cabinet resonances. He carefully slides his thumb across the iPod Touch to sweep the signal while he listens closely. And breathe out. Faber’s SignalSuite™ turns the iPhone into a signal generator. The usual variety of waveforms are produced, including sine, square, swept-sine, and the expected flavors of noise. The user interface is intuitive (as one would expect from Apple-world), and it works VERY well. The IZT R3000 family is particularly suitable for signal search and analysis, spectrum monitoring in line with ITU recommendations and communication intelligence. It allows to analyze and demodulate modern digital wideband signals as well as to track or intercept frequency agile systems over a wide range of bandwidths.

The innovative multichannel receiver system enables users to combine direction finding and monitoring by using free channels as individual monitoring channels.
The IZT R3600 is ideal for both fixed and mobile applications and can easily be synchronized with an external GPS reference. The scalable multichannel receiver system reduces the number of external devices and minimizes overall system costs. The modular concept makes the device extremely easy to maintain. The compact design in one 19-inch, 8U chassis facilitates easy transport and set-up.
